Dreamweaver
Dreamweaver (DW) is
a popular web development tool for many of our Zocoart users.
How to publish with DW
The easiest way to do it (in
MX) is to create a new site, and then there will be a pop-up GUI
screen that will walk you through the process. You will need the
server info and your login/password to put in the Site Definition->
Advanced Tab-> Remote Info area.
Then you can work on your website, create
your directory structure, etc...
Then all you do is "Synchronize"
the local site to your remote site, and DW will do the rest. Actually,
DW will check the files, see which ones need to be updated, and
then prompt you if you want to proceed (that way you don't overwrite
live files if you don't want to)...

FTP
Manager
FTP stands for File Transfer
Protocol, which is a fancy way of saying "Hey,
how do I copy files from my PC to my web site?". The FTP Manager
area of CPanel allows you to define FTP login accounts for certain
people to use to upload or download files from your web site.
Generally, to perform FTP functions from
your computer, you will need to install an FTP client program. Here
are links to several such programs:
CuteFTP
(30 day free trial version!)
SmartFTP
(free!)
Ws_FTP (It's
been around awhile and still popular!)
iSearch
The
iSearch PHP search engine allows you to build a searchable database
for your web site. Visitors can search for key words and a list
of any pages that match is returned to them.
Hint: You can add an entry to your Cron file
to schedule iSearch to update it's database on a regular weekly
basis. Here is the code that is required:
/usr/bin/php -q /home/user/public_html/isearch/admin/reindex.php
Movable
Type

web-based personal publishing system designed to ease maintenance
